More Opportunity for Hancock Students Starts With Us.

Strong Schools Grow From Strong Communities.

Parents. Neighbors. Alumni. All In.

Strong schools grow from strong communities. Friends of Hancock brings parents, families, alumni, neighbors, professionals, businesses, and community partners together to contribute time, knowledge, skills, relationships, expertise, connections, ideas, and resources that benefit Hancock students.

WHO WE ARE

Parent-Led. Community-Driven. Student-Focused.

Friends of Hancock Parent and Community Organization is an Illinois not-for-profit corporation that brings parents, families, alumni, neighbors, professionals, businesses, and community members together around Hancock students and the school community.

People contribute in different ways through time, knowledge, skills, relationships, ideas, and resources. Friends of Hancock helps turn those contributions into opportunities that can strengthen the student experience.

Designed to last from one generation of Hancock families to the next, the organization creates a structure for people to stay involved and keep showing up for students year after year.

FOR HANCOCK STUDENTS

Community members collaborating to support students

GET INVOLVED

Start With What You Have.

You do not need unlimited time or special experience to make a difference.

Give an hour. Share what you know. Make an introduction. Bring an idea.

Small contributions become powerful when people work together.

SHOW UP

Help with an event, activity, project, student experience, or other opportunity where additional hands can help turn an idea into action.

SHARE WHAT YOU KNOW

Bring professional experience, practical knowledge, skills, or perspective that could benefit Hancock students. You do not need to be an educator to have something valuable to contribute.

OPEN A DOOR

Know someone who could help? Make an introduction to a professional, alumnus, business, university, nonprofit, or community organization. One connection can become an opportunity a student may not otherwise encounter.

WHAT WE DO

How We Help

VOLUNTEERS

Parents, families, alumni, and community members contributing time and presence when an event, activity, project, student experience, or school-community initiative needs support.

CONNECTIONS

One introduction can lead to a guest speaker, mentor, professional connection, university relationship, community resource, business partnership, or new opportunity for students.

STUDENT EXPERIENCES

Community participation can help create experiences that allow students to explore, create, compete, lead, learn, build, and grow beyond the ordinary school day.

FAMILY & COMMUNITY

Creating opportunities for Hancock families, alumni, neighbors, professionals, businesses, and community members to meet, participate, collaborate, build relationships, and stay connected to the school community.

GET INVOLVED

There Is a Place for You Here.

Parents. Families. Alumni. Professionals. Neighbors. Businesses. Community organizations. People can contribute in different ways and every contribution can help expand what is possible for Hancock students.

Volunteer at an event. Share professional knowledge. Help create a student experience. Make an introduction. Bring an idea. Open a door.

WHY HANCOCK

Strong Students Need Opportunities to Go Further.

John Hancock College Preparatory High School is a rigorous selective-enrollment college-preparatory school. Students work hard in the classroom.

A strong school community can help extend learning beyond it by opening doors to experiences, people, ideas, and opportunities that may not be available through the ordinary school day alone.

“That would be great.”

“We made it happen.”

Sometimes the difference between those two sentences is one parent.

One volunteer.

One introduction.

One community partner.

Friends of Hancock exists to help turn community participation into opportunities for students.
